Hello!

Welcome to my page and more importantly to Apollo Elementary! I am happy that you've taken the time to investigate more about our school and staff.

 

I began my teaching career in 2000 at Dodge-Edison Elementary in Wichita. I taught 3rd grade, and was the lead teacher for my grade level before leaving the district to teach 5th grade in Cheney.  In 2006 I took my first administration job in Derby and remained there until 2015.  Since 2015 I have been the principal at Apollo and I am happy to serve in the same school district that I have chosen for my own children to attend.  

I truly believe that positive relationships where staff, parents, and students openly work together make the most meaningful educational experiences for all of those involved.  You will find that the Apollo staff and our supporting organizations such as the PTO are all dedicated to ensuring that everyone is activly engaged and maximizing their school experience both academically and socially.

Arrival/Dismissal and Tardy/Absent

School buses unload and load students on the West side of the building in front of the main doors.  Students being transported by parents must unload and load on the East side of the building.

Students may enter the building at 8:30 a.m. each school day.  The last bell rings at 8:45 a.m. and a student is considered tardy if they are not in their classroom at that time. Tardy students must stop by the office for a tardy slip before they go to their classroom.

Please call the Apollo office at 794-4090 by 9:30 a.m. if your child is going to be tardy or absent.
