panther principals

Apollo Elementary is kicking off the new school year with a clear and unified approach to student expectations through the implementation of the Panther Principles. Developed around three core tenets—Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe—these principles are designed to create a consistent and nurturing environment for all students and staff.

During the first week of school, teachers and students dedicated an entire morning to "Panther Principles Practice." This interactive session allowed staff to walk students through the expectations for every area of the school, from the cafeteria to hallways and even the playground. This hands-on approach ensures that students not only understand the principles but also have a chance to practice them in a variety of settings.

To reinforce these expectations, students and classes are able to earn Panther Principle Tickets as a positive reinforcement for demonstrating the principles. These tickets can be earned as a whole class, a small group, or an individual student. Each class sets a goal, and once they reach their predetermined number of tickets, they earn a class reward.

Visual reminders of the Panther Principles have been placed throughout the building. These clear and concise visuals will serve as a guide for everyone who enters the school—visitors, staff, and students alike—creating a shared understanding of what is expected in each specific area.

The goal of the Panther Principles is to foster a safe and respectful school community where every individual feels valued and understands their role in contributing to a positive learning environment. By establishing these common expectations and providing a system of positive reinforcement, Apollo Elementary is committed to setting a strong foundation for a successful and cohesive school year.
